      Jennifer M. Stevens (Oneida/Lakota), Lyric Soprano, residing in Green Bay, WI has studied voice privately and in college for over 10 years in Vocal Performance; Opera and Musical Theater since 1990. Ms. Stevens has sung for the Pamiro Opera Company Choir in Madame Butterfly and La Traviata in Green Bay, WI, and sung in choirs in school, college, and locally since she was in middle school.

      Ms. Stevens performed with the Green Bay Civic Symphony, with conductor, Patrick Miles at the Radisson Pavilion, Green Bay, WI in 1999. Ms. Stevens first symphony experience and received a standing ovation. The Oneida Nation Arts Program sponsored this concert to showcase Oneida classical musicians, such as Christopher Moore, Music Professor and Trumpet Player, and Soprano, Ms. Stevens. During this time, Ms. Stevens was attending Kansas University-School of Music and Dance, as a Vocal Performance Major. 

      Ms. Stevens' first recording/ composition, and certainly not last, was "Spirit Song," as a composition collaboration with avant garde percussionist, Andrew Drury, of Brooklyn, NY in 2000. “Spirit Song," has been played on Wisconsin Public Radio-Kalihwiyo’se. WPNE 89.3. With Ms. Stevens classical music background and Native American heritage; one of her many goals is to compose, perform, and record classical style music with a Native American influence; A growing music genre that Ms. Stevens is looking forward to explore. Currently,  Ms. Stevens is now doing composition collaborations with singer, Jana Holland and performing live with her in central Wisconsin. 

     Jennifer M. Stevens received a grant from the Oneida Nation Arts Program and Wisconsin Arts Board for a classical recital at the Holy Apostles Church, Oneida, WI.  Ms. Stevens will be working with various Native and Non-Native American musicians as a community collaborative, entitled:  "A Gift of Music."  Performance is scheduled for April 2009-TBA.

      Ms. Stevens has a love for children and strives not only to refine her own skills as a performer and artist, but gets great joy to encourage children in the arts. The Oneida Nation Arts Program under the direction of Beth Bashara, has been a great resource for Ms. Stevens to explore her creative endeavors and encourage Oneida youth in theater, music, and art.

        Jennifer M. Stevens is versatile in the arts from singing, creative writing, acting, directing, painting, and making Oneida-Iroquois pottery(Receiving a BA in Fine Arts at St. Norbert College). Ms. Stevens appreciates every form of the arts, but her true love is singing.
